Payment

I accept cash, personal checks, or credit cards.

Insurance

I currently accept Aetna and Cigna insurance.

If do not accept your particular insurance, I am considered an “out-of-network” provider and you may still be able to receive some reimbursement through your insurance carrier for the mental health services you receive. I will be happy to provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company. Please be aware that reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your coverage.  I recommend that you contact your insurance company, in order to understand what reimbursement might be available. Helpful questions to ask are as follows:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?

  • What is my annual deductible and have I met it yet?

  • How many therapy sessions per year does my insurance cover?

  • What dollar amount or percentage is covered per session?

  • Is pre-approval required from my primary care physician?

Cancellation Policy

Consistency is an important component of the healing process. If you are unable to attend a session, I ask that you please provide notice 24 hours or more in advance. In the event that you do not attend a session and do not provide at least 24 hour advance notice, it is my policy to charge half the cost of the scheduled session.

Confidentiality

In order promote trust in the therapeutic relationship, there has to be a guarantee of confidentiality. All information shared with me during sessions is held in absolute confidence, except for the following situations:

  • If there is any suspicion of past or present abuse or neglect of children, adults, and/or elders, I am mandated to make a report to Child Protective Services or Adult Protective Services.

or

  • If there is concern that a client is seriously in danger of harming him/herself or has threatened to harm another person, I am mandated to access help for the client and/or warn the potential victim.

If there is no legal exception present, I cannot and will not tell anyone else what you have told me, or even that you are in therapy with me without your prior written permission. I will always act so as to protect your privacy even if you do release me in writing to share information about you. You may direct me to share information with whomever you choose, and you can change your mind and revoke that permission at any time.
